Investigators believe a 60-year-old woman found dead on the banks of the Virgin River died from exposure.
Velva Romo apparently wandered away Dec. 30 from a trailer she lived in with her husband, Mannie Romo, in the Palms RV Park, according to Police Sgt. Verdis Benson.Water pipes in the trailer had frozen, and she may have left looking for water, Benson said. She reportedly was wearing thermals and a windbreaker when she left the trailer.
Her body was found around noon Monday by searchers. The Washington County attorney's office was notified the same day, Benson said.
Benson said an autopsy showed no evidence of foul play.
