Nita Wright, whose husband, Mike, is a member of the American Fork-based 120th Quartermaster Detachment, said soldiers in that group are watching the Jan. 15 deadline approach but are more concerned about the chance Congress could extend the time Guard and Reserve soldiers can be called to active duty from 180 days to one year.

The quartermaster detachment was called to active duty in August and has been in Saudi Arabia since September. The group was initially called up for 90 days. That call was extended to 180 days, which ends in February.
