Syrenus Wood, 86, died Thursday, January 3, 1991 in the East Lake Care Center in Provo.

He was born on March 19, 1904 in Spanish Fork, the son of Wellington Wood Jr. and Elizabeth Lavinia Ferris Wood. He married Ethel Olena Hansen on March 16, 1927 in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She passed away on May 28, 1982. He attended schools in Spanish Fork. He spent many years as a farmer. He also orked as a heavy equipment operator for Spanish Fork City and Utah County. He was a member of the LDS Church, and was a High Priest in the Spanish Fork 13th ward, and served as a home teacher. He enjoyed genealogy, fishing, gardening, and traveling to see his family.Survivors include six sons and three daughters: John S. Wood, Pleasant Grove; Mark H. Wood, Benjamin; Mrs. Marvin (Evelyn) Larsen, Cedar Hills; Allen Wood, Nuevo, California; Mrs. Arnold (LaRene) Barnes, Spanish Fork; Paul F. Wood, Longview, Washington; Robert W. Wood, Payson; Mrs. John (Karen) Reynolds, Visalia, California; Oliver Wood, West Valley; 46 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister and two brothers, Ann Nebo, Salem; Vernal Wood, Springville; Ferrin Wood, Spanish Fork.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Spanish Fork 13th LDS Ward Chapel, 1006 East 200 South, Spanish Fork. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. or Monday at the ward relief society room one hour prior to the services.
