Cold weather makes everyone want to snuggle up in a blanket, and the animals at Hogle Zoo are no exception.

Zoo officials ask that Utahns donate their old blankets when making new purchases during January. All kinds of blankets are needed, but quilts or blankets with ornamental designs should not be donated because of the danger of animals choking on the material.

Blankets may be taken to the zoo's main office, 2600 E. Sunnyside Ave., between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
