The Houston Rockets ended Chicago's five-game winning streak Thursday night with a 114-92 victory, the Bulls' worst defeat of the season, but Akeem Olajuwon was knocked unconscious under the Rockets basket in the third quarter.

Olajuwon suffered a contusion on his right cheek, a bloody nose and a black right eye with 3:32 remaining in the third quarter when he was struck by Bulls center Bill Cartwright's elbow.He slumped to the floor unconscious and was carried from the court on a stretcher. The Rockets center missed the start of last season while recovering from a blood clot in his left leg.

Dr. Frank Lanza examined Olajuwon in the Rockets' lockerroom. He reported no apparent fracture and no vision impairment.

Rockets coach Don Chaney said Olajuwon would be hospitalized overnight as a precaution.
