Investigators hope an autopsy will yield some answers about the death of a 60-year-old St. George woman whose body was found on the banks of the Virgin River.
Police Sgt. Verdis Benson said the body of Velva Romo was scheduled to undergo an autopsy by the state medical examiner later this week.Romo was reported missing by her husband, Mannie Romo, on Saturday after she left their trailer home in the Palms RV Park.
Water pipes in the couple's trailer had apparently frozen. Romo was reportedly wearing thermals and a windbreaker when she left the trailer, according to police reports.
Her body was found around noon Monday by searchers. The Washington County attorney's office was notified the same day, Benson said.
