Our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Joseph Dow Allred, age 76 passed away January 2, 1991 in Salt Lake City.

Born November 28, 1914 in Whitney, Idaho to William and Lulu Beckstead Allred. He married Jean Marie Anderson, July 2, 1936 in Blackfoot, Idaho; later divorced. Veteran of World War II, he served in the Marine Corp. and landed on Iwo Jimo. Member of the American Legion. He loved flowers and gardening, a hard worker.Survived by his wife, Jean Allred, West Valley; seven children; Gary Dow Allred, West Valley; Joel Eugene Allred and Coralie Jean Tafoya, both Kearns; Deena Kay Allred, Murray; Lynn D. Allred, Kearns; Vicki Lu Cowan, West Valley; Barton Edsel Allred, Draper; five sisters, Leah Shay, Salt Lake City; Mona Hall, LaRue Conn, and Greta Christensen, Glenna Wardle, all of Idaho; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Bill Allred, Oregon; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 5th, at 11 a.m. at Mackay Lake Hills Mortuary 10055 So. State Street, Sandy. Friends may call Friday evening 7-8 p.m. at Mackay Deseret Mortuary 36 East 700 So. and Saturday one hour prior to services at Lake Hills Mortuary.
