Don L. Whimpey, age 83, died January 1, 1991 at the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo.

Born July 28, 1907 in Lehi, Utah to John N. and Irene Peterson Whimpey. Married Vera Creer October 30, 1931 in Lehi. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Graduated from Lehi High School and attended BYU and then worked on construction. Worked as a supervisor for Utah County and later power plant operator at Deer Creek Power Plant. Served an LDS mission in California. Was bishop of the Charleston Utah Ward and served as an ordinance worker at the Provo Temple.Survived by wife, Lehi; son and daughters, Robert J., Lehi; Mrs. Bill (JaNeane) Jacob, American Fork; Mrs. Val (Elaine) Tucker, Lehi; 14 grandchidlren; 29 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Glen (Ruth) Glover, Payette, Idaho; Mrs. Bud (Madge) Hutchings and Mrs. Richard (LaRae) Eddington, both of Lehi; daughter-in-law, Fern Gray, Lehi. Preceded in death by a son, Kenneth D. Whimpey.

Funeral services Saturday, January 5, 1991 at 11 a.m. in the Lehi North Stake Center, 1200 East 900 North. Friends may call at the Wing Mortuary in Lehi, Friday 6-8 p.m. and at the Church Saturday 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial, Lehi City Cemetery.
