Zeldon John Rostron, age 85, died January 1, 1991 in Salt Lake City.

Born January 30, 1905 in Moroni, Utah to John Thomas and Mary Ellen Nielsen Rostron. He married Catherine Silotti on June 4, 1927 in Bountiful, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 19, 1940.He worked 42 years for Little America Refining Company and at the time of his retirement he was Vice President. He was a boardmember of the Exchange Club of Salt Lake City. He served 8 years as bishop of the Waterloo Ward. Served on the High Council in the Wells, East Millcreek and Mount Olympus Stakes and held numerous other church positions. Avid gardner and loved his roses. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine; one son and two daughters, Robert Z. and wife Judith, Honolulu, Hawaii; Lois Allinder and husband Forrest, Salt Lake City; Gayle Nelson and husband Richard, Yorba Linda, California; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Winona Julian, Garden Grove, California; Isabel Ockey and David Rostron, both of Nephi; Ira Rostron and wife Bea, Mapleton, Utah; Edna Moulton and husband Daryl, Copperton; Frances Leek and husband Jerry, Moroni. Preceded in death by a brother, Virgil and a sister, Hazel Sudweeks.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 1 p.m., January 4,1991 at the Mount Olympus 5th Ward Chapel, 3510 South 3640 East. Friends may call at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the Church on Frdiday from 11:45-12:45 prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
