Betty Crocker's trusty Hamburger Helper has another quickie mix flavor. Cheddar 'n' Bacon is advertised as having real bacon pieces, spiral macaroni and cheddar cheese. The 8 oz. package retails for $1.49.

Kay Hadley: "We hadn't eaten Hamburger Helper in about 10 years and I wasn't terribly anxious to try this one. However, it wasn't too bad. We tried the Cheddar 'n' Bacon and found it to be quite good . . . for Hamburger Helper."Don Russell: "Yes, this is another good ol' Hamburger Helper with a cheddar cheese and bacon twist. General Mills has added spiral macaroni, cheddar cheese, a humble amount of bacon pieces, and bacon flavoring to this version. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this item, but it's hard to muster excitement about it."

Judy Slack: "This dinner was fit for a dog, barely. Just barely."

Edyth Jensen: "We tried the Cheddar 'n' Bacon and liked it. These mixes are good to have on the shelf for a quick meal. We haven't liked most of the helpers but this one will be OK."

Linda C. Tingey: "We really liked the Cheddar 'n' Bacon Hamburger Helper. I don't buy mixes like this too often but we thought it had a good taste to it. I will buy this flavor again."

Conclusion: Several testers thought this was pretty good for a quick mix but beware: You might find this bow-wow fare.
