Suzanne Hess, 41, of Springville died Saturday, December 29, 1990 at her home following a short illness.
She was born March 24, 1949 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, a daughter of Wilford Gene and Betty Lloyd Hess.She was educated in the Shelly and Idaho Falls, Idaho schools and graduated from Skyline High School in Idaho Falls. She attended Ricks College, Middlesex College, and Utah State University. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS degree in Fine Arts. She was also a graduate of the Glen E. Clark School of Business in Idaho Falls.
After her graduation from B.Y.U. she worked for Tenaco Oil in New Jersey for 2 years. In 1979 she began teaching Drama at the Spanish Fork Intermediate School where she taught until just recently. She was instrumental in organizing the Drama Club at the Spanish Fork Intermediate School. Under her direction her students performed many outstanding musicals in the Spanish Fork Community. She also directed many church musical productions.
She worked with the Community Theater groups and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Fork Community Theater. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in all organizations of the church. She served a mission to the South Eastern States. She was an excellent teacher and taught in the Young Womens Organization, Primary, and Sunday School.
Survivors include her mother Betty L. Hickman of Springville; one brother D. Gene Hess, Castledale; two stepbrothers: Robert Hickman, Hesperia, Calif.; Paul Caronna, Corona, Calif.; one stepsister, Mrs. Kathy Hickman Muir, Santa Ana, Calif.; 12 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, a sister Sandra Ilene Hess and a brother Richard C. Hess.
Services will be Wednesday at 12 noon in the Springville 20th Ward Chapel at 650 East 500 South, Springville. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary in Spanish Fork at 187 South Main, Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to the services at the Ward Chapel in Springville.
