Theron David Smart, 84, died December 26, 190, following a serious illness.

Born in Union, Utah, he graduated from Utah State University with a degree in geology. At Utah State, he was a football, basketball, and track-and-field star. He married his college sweetheart, Nora Layton Blood. He taught high school and later he owned a heating, appliance, and sporting goods business in Bountiful, Utah. In 1952, the family moved to California where he was involved in automotive and real estate sales.He is survived by his wife, Nora, Culver City, Calif.; daughters, Sondra Dunster of San Diego, Calif.; Diane Zinn of El Centro, Calif.; sons, David Smart of Orem; and Carvel Smart of Brea, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter; brother, Jay Smart; and sister, Twila Dow of Salt Lake City; sister, Rae Wright, St. George; and sister Mary Thompson, of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by sisters, Ferol White and June Larkin.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m., services 12 noon, Wednesday, January 2, 1991, at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. Interment will follow at the Kaysville City Cemetery.
