Roy Charles Cochran, age 83, died December 29, 1990 in Salt Lake City.

Born May 25, 1907 in Kemmerer, Wyoming to Charles A. and Annie Christofferson Cochran. Married Edna Bertha Peterson October 15, 1927 in Montpelier, Idaho. Later Solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He spent his youth in Montpelier and attended schools there. Worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 50 years spending the last few years before retirement in Omaha, Nebraska as Superintendent of Shops. He held many positions in the LDS Church, served in the Winter Quarters Stake Presidency for over 15 years and as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple for many years. He was also a host for many years at the Salt Lake Temple Square visitors center. He worked many years with the youth at Boys Town in Omaha and with the Boy Scouts of America and served at the Salt Lake Boys Ranch.He is survived by two daughters: Mrs Glade (Annette) Nielsen, Maumelle, Arkansas and Mrs Jack (Judy) Starley, Provo, Utah. eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Two sisters: Mrs Helen Kautz, Montpelier, Idaho and Mrs Mary Morgan, Salt Lake City, Utah; brother, Donald Cochran, Mesa, Arizona. Preceded in death by an infant son, Roy Cochran Jr.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 2, 1991 at 11:00 a.m. in the South Cottonwood Seventh Ward Chapel, 1250 East 4800 South, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Montpelier, Idaho City Cemetery under the direction of Matthews Mortuary.
