A 16-year-old is accused of stabbing a friend with a piece of glass and leaving him to bleed to death after a fight over whether the friend should sleep at his house.
Police booked the youth with manslaughter of Patrick O'Neal Haney, also 16. The accused teen's name was not released because he is a juvenile, Cpl. Kevin Cavell said.He said police believe the fight began because Haney wanted to spend the night at his friend's house and wouldn't take no for an answer.
A police officer found Haney shortly after 2 a.m. Friday, about the same time someone called police to report the victim was lying in blood on the steps of a house, Cavell said. Before a rescue squad arrived, Haney had bled to death, Cavell said.
