Moving the county's emergency-dispatch center to its new justice complex in west Farmington will cost $10,000, the Davis County Commission was told Wednesday.

The commissioners approved a contract with US WEST to move the computerized, sophisticated E911 system from the county's current dispatch center in the sheriff's department in downtown Farmington to the new complex in west Farmington.Chief Deputy Bud Cox said the contract calls for US WEST to move the dispatch center and have it completely operational, a process he said should only take one day if it goes smoothly.

The sheriff's office administrative building at the 400-bed jail and court complex is almost finished, but the jail portion is behind schedule and probably won't be completed until mid-March, making a move out to the new complex unlikely before spring.
