Here's a look at some special programs public radio is offering for Dec. 31-Jan. 1:

- KUER (FM-90.1) will air "The Capitol Steps: The Fools on the Hill," Monday, Dec. 31, 7 p.m.- National Public Radio's "American Jazz Radio Festival New Year's Eve Celebration" will be broadcast Dec. 31, 10:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.

- "Morning Edition's Tribute to Sportscaster Red Barber" will air Tuesday, Jan. 1, 6 a.m.

- The annual "New Year's Day From Vienna 1991" will be heard on KUER, Jan. 1, 9 a.m.

- KBYU (FM-89.1) - The station will add the Pittsburgh Symphony and the St. Paul Orchestra to its programming lineup starting next month.

"Pittsburgh will be heard each Tuesday at 7 p.m. starting Jan. 1 and "St. Paul" will air each Sunday evening at 7:00, beginning Jan. 6.

- KBYU will also offer several New's Year's treats. On Dec. 31, 8 p.m., the station will air "New Year's Eve at Symphony Hall." On Jan. 1, "New Year's Day From Vienna" will air at 9 a.m.
