Beloved husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa, Manfred Walter Gloeckner, age 73, died suddenly on December 27, 1990.
Born August 10, 1917 in Chemnitz, Germany to Max and Frieda Steinborn Gloeckner. He married Ingeborg Haeuber on March 14, 1942 in Chemnitz, Germany. He served in the German Air Force during WWII and was a prisoner of war for 3 years in Russia. Immigrated to the U.S. in 1957. Worked for Continental Baking Company for 20 years. His big love was his family and gardening.He is survived by his wife, Ingeborg; son, Peter M. and wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Doris and husband, Rolf Salm, all of Salt Lake City; ten grandchildren, Jefferson, Alexander, Annlouise, Zachariah, Peter Gloeckner; Peter, Frank, Perry, Michelle, Rodney Salm; four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m., December 31, 1990 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 S. Highland Drive, where friends may call one hour prior. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
