Lloyd E. Metcalf, age 68, passed away December 26, 1990.

Born August 10, 1922 in Smithfield, Utah to Charles E. and Mabel Swenson Metcalf. Married Kathelyne Fonnesbeck on February 4, 1943; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 4, 1959. He graduated from Granite High School; obtained BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah. He was a veteran of World War II, and faught in China and India. He spent his career as an engineer working for Sperry-Univac (now Unisys) and the US Air Force at Hill Air Force Base. He was also the author of poetry, and historical studies of early Utah. He was active in the LDS Church, where he held various positions including Elders Quorum president, and High Priest group instructor.Survived by his wife; two sons and three daughters, Lloyd Craig Metcalf and wife Denise, Pamela Shepherd and husband Kevin, Patricia Corless and husband Kevin, Kevin M. Metcalf and wife Diane, Kimberlee Sieverts and husband John; nine grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, C. Warren Metcalf, Betty Kettler, Shirley Zimmerman, James A. Metcalf.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 31, 1990 at 11 a.m. in the Holladay 8th Ward, 5450 South Holladay Blvd. Friends may call at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday at the ward from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
