The Assistance League of Salt Lake City has honored Bob Middlemas with a National Assistance League award of recognition and appreciation.

Middlemas, former general manager of the Utah Division of Nordstrom department stores, recently became a general manager of the Nordstrom Chicago area region.The award, presented at the store's executive offices at the Crossroads Shopping Plaza, was given by league president Alice Larkin and committee member Camie David.

The award thanks Middlemas and Nordstrom for their donations to the Assistance League Thrift Shop. This year, proceeds from the thrift shop have helped buy new clothing for more than 1,000 needy school children through "Operation School Bell."
