Emma Ferlan Miller, 82, of Holladay, died December 25, 1990 due to a lingering illness.

She was born April 16, 1908 in Murray to John and Martha Ferlan. She married W. Ted Miller on August 31, 1929 in Salt Lake City. For many years she was a member of the Sugar House B & P.W. Club and served terms as secretary/treasurer and president. In 1987 she was chosen the club's Woman of the Year. She was active in the Salt Lake Council of Women and was elected council president in 1966. She was also active in promoting the National Peace Gardens and was instrumental in it's success. She also served on numerous other civic committees and chartible functions.She is survived by her husband Ted, Holladay; three children, Ted E. Miller, Salt Lake City; Marilyn James, Montpelier, Idaho; Frank T. Miller, Salt Lake City; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Edward Ferlan, Salt Lake City; and John Sablich of San Manuel, Arizona.

Private funeral services will be on Friday, December 28, 1990 at the MacKay Cottonwood Mortuary. Burial, Holladay Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
