Two American climbers have scaled the 22,349-foot Himalayan peak of Ama Dablan, the Ministry of Tourism said Thursday.

Expedition leader Christopher Warner, 26, a mountaineering instructor from Elicott City, N.Y., and Glenn Gunmire, 29, a mountain guide from Estes Park, Colo., reached the summit of Ama Dablan on Dec. 21.The pair covered the final stage of their climb from their last camp in just two hours, following a route up the west face of the peak, the ministry said.

Warner and Gunmire became the second American team to scale Ama Dablan this winter.
