Two deer hunters stranded overnight near Miller's Flat Reservoir in Sanpete County have been found safe.
They were walking along the Miller's Flat Road Monday afternoon toward U-31, the road between Huntington and Fairview.Capt. Dave Owens of the Emery County sheriff's office said Rick Rowland and Duane Johnson, both of Orem, were in good condition. He said they ran out of gas late Sunday afternoon and stayed near their pickup. They built fires to keep warm. At daylight they began walking out, he said.
They left their homes early Sunday for a one-day hunt in some of the areas designated for a special deer hunt. Relatives who were worried when they failed to return home notified law enforcement agencies.
