Joint funeral services are scheduled for Beth Harmon Tidwell Potts and her daughter, Kaye Tidwell Tiede who were apparent homicide victims on Saturday, December 22, 1990 at the family cabin near Oakley, Summit County, Utah.

Mrs. Tiede's husband Rolf was also critically injured in the same incident and has required hospitalization.Beth Harmon Tidwell Potts, age 76, was born on August 20, 1914 in Manti, Utah a daughter of Rozella Lowry and Milton Spillsbury Harmon. She married Claude Eugene Tidwell of Moroni, Utah on February 14,1936 and after his death (in an automobile accident) she later married William Clifford Potts on November 5, 1971. They were married for 12 years until he too lost his life in an auto accident (in 1983), the same accident in which she lost her eyesight and much of her mobility. Member of the Winder 6th LDS Ward for nearly 20 years. For the past 7 years she has been residing at Old Farm residential community near Murray, Utah and attending the Millcreek 1st LDS Ward.

Survivors of Mrs. Potts include three daughters and one son, Claudia Goates of Salt Lake City; Barbara Noriega of Kaysville, Utah; Sue Ellen Reeder of Dayton, Idaho; and Ken Tidwell of Salt Lake City; 19 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; four brothers, John, George, Leonard, and Richard Harmon; two sisters, Melva Stevens Brown and Norma Armstrong Grotepas.

Kaye Tidwell Tiede, age 49, was born January 16, 1941 in Ely, Nevada a daughter of Claude Eugene and Beth Harmon Tidwell. She married Rolf Tiede on May 24, 1963 in Salt Lake City. A member of the LDS Church, she and her family are residents of Humble, Texas near Houston.

Survivors of Mrs. Tiede include her husband Rolf and their three children, Linae, Shaun, and Tricia; and her three sisters and brother, Claudia, Barbara, Sue Ellen and Ken.

Joint funeral services on Friday, December 28th, at 12 noon, Winder 6th LDS Ward Chapel, 4366 South 1500 East. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, on Thursday evening 6-8 pm and at the Ward on Friday, from 10:45-11:45 am. Interment services are scheduled for the Manti City Cemetery in Sanpete County.
