Robert Maurice "Meece" Brown, 78, passed away at his home in Grantsville, Utah December 22, 1990.

Meece was born June 5, 1912 in Grantsville to Jasper D. and Ada Matthews Brown. He married Jane Rydalch July 25, 1941 in Malad, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He was a farmer and rancher all his life and cherished his memories of Brown's Ranch in Skull Valley. He was a charter member and past president of the Grantsville Lion's Club, member and past vice chairman of the Salt Lake District Taylor Grazing (BLM) Advisory Board, National Pony Express Re-enactment rider for 10 years, president, South Willow Irrigation Co., and FFA Honorary Chapter Farmer. He was a member of the LDS Church, and held the office of High Priest. He served as Young Men's president, in the Sunday School superintendency, and Elder's Quorum presidency.

Maurice is survived by his wife, Jane, Grantsville; and his children, George Corwin "Cory" Brown, Richard Maurice "Tom" and Suzanne Brown, Maureen and Roger Peterson, all of Grantsville; Janice Marriott, Salt Lake City; Jolynne and John Burr, Grantsville; 13 grandchildren, Cary, Colby, and Janan Burr; J. D. And Meagan Marriott; Andy, Ashley, Alex and Aaron Peterson; Melodi, Anthony, Tomothy, and Thomas Brown; one great-granddaughter, Morgan Burr. Also survived by a sister, Rachel Smith, Grantsville; and two brothers, Jack M. Brown, Weiser, Idaho; and J. Quentin Brown, Corvallis, Montana. Preceded in death by a sister, Beth Peterson, and a brother, J. Keith Brown.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27, at 1 p.m. in the Grantsville 1st Ward Chapel, 415 West Apple and West Street. A viewing will be held at the Tate Mortuary in Tooele Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to services.
