Orion Perry Memmott, 79, died April 21, 1990 at his home in St. George.
Born October 20, 1910 in Pleasant Green, Utah to Perry and May Perkins Memmott. He married Nelda Petersen in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in June of 1936.Orion graduated from BYU, taught school and was a principal in Lyndell and Deseret schools. Retired as an engineer for the UP Railroad after 35 years of service. Past president of the Milford Lions Club and past president of the Junior Oldtimers Club of the UP Railroad. Orion and Nelda served a mission in 1980 and 1981 to the London South Mission. Came to St. George in 1982. Avid fisherman and hunter. Active member LDS Church.
Survived by his wife, St. George; three sons, Orion Douglas Memmott, Roger Ladd Memmott, and Jan Corwin Memmott; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; a sister, Lucille Warner, Nephi; and a brother, Nord Kay Memmott, Scipio.
Funeral, Tuesday, April 24, 1990, 3 p.m., St. George 2nd Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Spilsbury-Desert Rose Memorial Chapel Monday evening from 7-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Burial, St. George City Cemetery.
