A former employee at the Utah State Hospital has pleaded `no contest' in 4th District Court to two counts of abusing disabled adults, third-degree felonies.
David E. Taylor, 22, 2719 Connor St., Holladay, was in court Friday to receive a trial date after earlier entering a plea of not guilty to six counts of abusing disabled adults. However, Taylor changed his plea to `no contest', which does not admit guilt but indicates that a defendent will not make a defense, in exchange for having the other charges dismissed.Taylor was arrested in April after a police agent working on an undercover drug operation at the school said he saw Taylor strike and shoot staples at a resident. Taylor will be sentenced on Jan. 18. He faces up to five years in prison.
