Utah's four full-time federal judges have joined to order consolidation of 20 property condemnation cases filed by the federal government.
The cases involve property that would be inundated by the Jordanelle Reservoir, or needed for the Jordanelle Dam project, part of the Central Utah Project. The judges determined that compensation will be "determined by a commission of three persons appointed by the court." All trial dates pending on the separate cases were then vacated.
Anyone who believes they are exempt from the order should file an application by April 22, the judges said. A hearing on such petitions will be held at 4 p.m. May 2 in the federal courthouse at 350 S. Main.
