Janice R. Sargent, associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine, is the new president of the Utah Psychological Association.
Sargent has been a member of the association since 1970, having completed two terms as legislative chairwoman.Other officers include: Michael J. Lambert, professor of psychology, Brigham Young University, president-elect; Michael A. Rigdon, assistant clinical professor and chief of the Division of Behavioral Sciences, University of Utah, treasurer; Elaine Clark, faculty, educational psychology, University of Utah, secretary.
Joan B. Zone, counselor, Center for Counseling and Therapeutic Services, McKay-Dee Hospital, and Patrick J. Miller, coordinator of medical psychology consultation section, Veteran's Medical Center, members-at-large.
Clive E. Watson, executive director, was honored for his service to the association. And Distinguished Service Awards were presented to Joyce H. Moore, Janet R. Warburton, Kaye Coleman, John L. Malouf, Donald S. Strassberg, Robin E. Malouf, David G. Weight and Arden Frandsen.
