A new quarterly historical journal highlighting the past 100 years of Bountiful history has been launched as part of the city's upcoming centennial celebration.
The Bountiful Centennial Quarterly Magazine is being underwritten by the Bountiful Historical and Preservation Commission in cooperation with the city's centennial committee and the chamber of commerce.Copies of the magazine, at $2 each, are on sale from local merchants in the south Davis County area.
Written by Gary Blodgett and Bryan Gray, both veteran newspaper reporters and longtime county residents, the magazine features stories of early pioneers as well as current residents.
Proceeds from the sale of the magazine will help support the centennial celebration, which is planned for December 1992. Publication costs are paid through advertising.
The first issue features stories on Perrigrine Sessions, founder of Bountiful along with his eight wives and 55 children; former Gov. Cal Rampton; San Francisco Giants pitcher Kelly Downs; figure skater Holly Cook; and local businesses.
