Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Olie Olsen, passed away December 21, 1990 after a long courageous battle with cancer.

He was born January 17, 1915 in Copenhagen, Denmark to John and Jonna Olsen. He served with the U.S. Navy during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He married Florence Suter on June 14, 1936 in Salt Lake City. Olie worked for 37 years as a salesman in the bakery business, and after retiring, worked for 12 years at Mitchells Nursery. He was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of Moose #259 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1760. He was an avid lover of dancing, gardening and fishing.Survived by his wife; sons, Ron and his wife, Gail Olsen, Michigan; Skip and wife, Joyce Olsen; Brent and his wife, Joan Olsen, all Salt Lake City; daughter, Carole; and her husband, Mike Smith, Salt Lake City; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Anita and her husband, Clark Cushing of Murray. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jonna Olsen and a daughter, Sharon Rae Olsen.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 24, 1990, at 11 a.m., at MacKay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive, where friends may call Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Monday. Burial will follow at Wasatch Lawn.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
