Keith R. Howe, associate professor of accounting at Brigham Young University, has been selected by the National Council of the accounting fraternity Beta Alpha Psi as the outstanding faculty vice president for service to BYU's chapter.

He is one of five people in the country to be recognized this year by the group, is the first university recipient in Utah and the first from BYU.The award was started in 1969 by Arthur Andersen & Co. Dallas Bradford, managing partner of Arthur Andersen's Salt Lake office, gave Howe a plaque and $1,000 in cash.

A graduate of the University of Utah with his doctorate degree from Arizona State University, Howe has worked for the U.S. Air Force Audit Agency and in 1982 received certification as a certified internal auditor.
