An Ogden lawmaker has been cited in the shoplifting of $196 in clothing from a department store, according to police reports.

Rep. Dionne P. Halverson, D-Ogden, was issued a citation after a security guard at Mervyn's Department Store reported seeing a woman leave the store with several items that she had not purchased.The incident will be turned over to the Weber County attorney's office for possible class A misdemeanor charges. No court appearance date has been set. She has declined comment.

The 43-year-old homemaker in November won a second two-year term representing Utah House District 10.

According to Ogden Police reports, a guard at the Mervyn's store in the Newgate Mall saw a woman leave with several items of clothing and apprehended her outside the store.
