One of four taverns in the city lost its Class C liquor license, its business license and a piranha Friday.

May's Place, 161 S. U.S. 89, lost the licenses after City Council members held a hearing to decide whether or not to revoke the two licenses. They met Dec. 4 and Dec. 18 and held a special City Council meeting last Thursday to hear additional evidence.City Manager Collin Wood said the revocation stemmed from several problems at May's Place in the past few months.

He said there have been excessive disturbances there, mostly fights; a piranha swimming in a fish bowl was confiscated there - piranhas are illegal, according to state and city laws - and narcotics were found during a raid at the establishment a few weeks ago.
