Lagoon Amusement Park and the advertising firm of Scopes-Garcia-Carlisle, 375 W. 200 South, have received the first place Brass Ring Award for excellence in advertising from the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.
Dick Andrews, Lagoon marketing director, and Greg Carlisle, president of the the advertising firm, received the award during the association's annual convention in Wash-ington, D.C.Lagoon was honored for a television spot created by SGC for the Lagoon-A-Beach waterpark. Lagoon and SGC also received two third-place awards for newspaper and outdoor advertising.
Carlisle said the objective of the campaign was to position Lagoon as the ultimate summer entertainment and the theme of "Your Brand of Summer Fun" was used throughout the campaign. Lagoon is the first amusement park in the Intermountain area to receive the award.
