A Lehi man died Thursday afternoon at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City after falling into Utah Lake on Wednesday.
Norman Jones, 52, died at 3:15 p.m. of "severe hypothermia," according to a Utah County sheriff's spokesman.Jones and three male companions were hunting geese about 350 yards from the shore of Utah Lake Wednesday afternoon when a wind came up, causing the ice to break, and all four fell into the water, the spokesman said.
The other three were identified as Mike Carson, 29; Brad Carson, 20; and Harvey Carson, 55. The two younger men pulled Jones out of the water, and Harvey Carson was able to reach the shore alone. The three were not hurt.
