The state will pick up the funeral expense for a 5-year-old boy whose body was found buried in his parents' back yard, according to Department of Human Services officials.

Meantime, community members have chipped in to donate flowers and Christmas presents to four siblings of Nicholas McGuire, whose body was exhumed Monday by Roy police.James Thomas, the boy's stepfather, and his mother, Debra Thomas, are being held in the Weber County Jail on third-degree felony charges of desecration of a dead human body. They remain in jail on $35,000 bail.

Investigation into the death is continuing.
