Velda Nelson Brown, Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, age 70, passed away December 20, 1990 in Bountiful.

Born July 20, 1920 in Bridge, Idaho, to Parley and Orla Louisa Coltrin Platts. She married Nolan Guyman Nelson November 12, 1938 in Farmington, Utah. He passed away February 21, 1961. She married Norris E. Brown on September 19, 1963 in Elko, Nevada.She was a member of the LDS Church. She grew up in Woods Cross, attending schools in Bountiful and graduated from Davis High School. She worked at Stimpson's Market, Clearfield and American Food Store in Roy. She was a member of the American Meat Cutters Association. She was a hard worker, a dedicated wife and mother. She excelled at crocheting and made beautiful ceramics.

She is survived by her husband of Bountiful; one daughter, Helen and her husband, Keith Ungerman, Woods Cross; and one son, Nolan Dale and wife, Shanna Nelson, Roy; six grandchildren, Patrice and husband, Steve Forsberg; Jackie and husband, Patrick Draper; Karlene and husband, Leonard Eskelson; Mardy and wife, Melissa Nelson; Steve and wife, Melanie Nelson and Clint Nelson; seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters: Elaine Sproul, Salt Lake; Romaine Howard, North Salt Lake; and Lucille Frearson, Ogden.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 24, at 10 Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Monday morning from 9-9:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, will be at Roy Cemetery, Roy, Utah.
