Glendon A. Maxfield, 76, died December 19, 1990 at the Dixie Medical Center, St. George, Utah of an apparent heart attack.
He was born July 23, 1914 in Clawson, Utah to William Arthur and Minnie Akelund Maxfield. He married Buell Crandall September 27, 1934 in Duchesne, Utah; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mrs. Maxfield died December 26, 1980.Mr. Maxfield was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Leads ward. He was a lover of the out doors. He raised horses, show birds, and pheasants. He especially loved gardening, and specialized in raising beautiful roses. He loved his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include children, Glenna Dean, Richmond, Calif.; Mrs. Darrel (Shirley) Neilson, Salt Lake City; Mrs. George (Kathleen) Karns, Holladay; Kerry Maxfield, Provo; and Jay Maxfield, of Craig, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Ardelta Timothy, Vernal; Lester Maxfield, Twila Timothy, and LaRue Fisher, all Altonah; Millie Besst, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 26, 1990, 12 noon, in the Altamont LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call Saturday evening, December 22, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Spilsbury-Desert Rose Memorial Chapel, 58 North 100 East, St George, and Wednesday, at the ward in Altamont, one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Altonah, Utah Cemetery, under the direction of Spilsbury-Desert Rose Mortuary.
