A former cult member has been convicted in the killings of five family members found shot to death and buried at the cult leader's farm.

A Lucas County Common Pleas Court jury rejected Ronald Luff's insanity claim and found him guilty of five counts of aggravated murder in the deaths of Dennis Avery; his wife, Cheryl; and their three daughters.Each had been bound with duct tape and shot, then pushed into a common grave inside a barn in Kirtland, about 30 miles east of Cleveland. Except for Dennis Avery, each also was blindfolded.
