Rush-hour fire destroys van Salt Lake County firefighters extinguish an early morning van fire near 5600 South and the Van Winkle Expressway. Northbound rush-hour traffic was blocked in the area for half an hour. "Apparently it started on fire and he (the driver) saw it through his rear view mirror and pulled over," said Salt Lake County Fire Lt. Dennis Barker. The unidentified driver had just filled his gas tank minutes before the blaze broke out about 6:50 a.m. Firefighters believe the blaze may have been caused by a ruptured fuel tank. No one was injured in the blaze.
