A daredevil whose attempt to shoot Niagara Falls in a barrel hit a snag at the last moment has been fined nearly $3,800.

David Munday's 790-pound steel-and-foam-rubber barrel became stuck at the brink of the falls, which straddle the U.S.-Canadian border, on July 15. He was fished out of the swirling waters by rescue workers manning a crane.Munday, 53, was attempting to become the first person to twice shoot the falls in a barrel, having successfully made the plunge in 1985.
