The Salvation Army has accepted 962 families - with an estimated 3,872 children - in its Christmas Distribution Program for 1990. An additional 140 families are on a waiting list and could be helped if additional food was available.

Donated canned goods have been placed in Christmas food baskets and an additional $13,000 has been used to help supplement the baskets.The Salvation Army has visited 3,859 people and given them Christmas gifts, including some of the 5,000 toys donated. More than 700 dolls have been dressed by Salt Lake volunteers.

The group needs both canned goods and cash donations to meet the needs of the Salt Lake's needy.
