Gail Mabe, right, community relations director at Friendship Manor, 1320 E. 500 South, Salt Lake City, and three residents of the retirement complex shop for postage stamps and retail items at a mobile post office. Postal employees Terry Smith, center, and Richard Cook set up the mobile post office at eight senior citizen and retirement centers in Salt Lake City for two weeks in December to help make sending letters and packages easier for more than 1,200 people. In addition to selling stamps and accepting mail, Smith and Cook sold Postal Service-sponsored jewelry, belt buckles, sweat shirts, banks and puzzles.
