A bank robbery suspect in Palm Bay, Fla., says Geraldo made her do it. Kathleen Meka, 19, says she and her boyfriend watched a segment of Geraldo Rivera's syndicated television that featured thieves and were inspired to rob a bank. They pulled it off Friday, netting $2,215, but Meka surrendered two days later while her boyfriend remains at large. "She is a victim," said her lawyer, Joel Remland. "She's 19, easily influenced, and here she is being coerced by her boyfriend because of this irresponsible, sensational, yellow journalism." A Rivera spokesman said the show should have acted as a deterrent because it focused on ordinary people who committed crimes and were caught. "If we do a show on auto safety and somebody decides to drive their car into a brick wall, we have no control over that," the spokesman said.
