Esther Huhl Blackhurst, age 89, passed away December 16, 1990 of natural causes.

Born March 13, 1901 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles William and Carrie Emma Chamberlain Huhl. On September 12, 1923, she married Edwin William Blackhurst in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died on September 20, 1987. Active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as secretary in various auxiliaries. She was an executive secretary working for several different companies, including Utah Construction Company, and retired when she was 70 years old. She also served as treasurer of the Salt Lake Lady Lions for many years.Esther will be remembered by all who knew her for her shining example of excellence in all things. She was always a wonderful example of good health, compassion, concern and unconditional love for her family, friends and all mankind.

She is survived by her four children, Robert H. (wife, Virginia) Blackhurst; Mrs. Claron C. (Joan) Spencer; both of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Leland D. (Joyce) White of The Hague, Netherlands; and David H. (wife, Diane) of Provo; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchilden.

Funeral services Friday, December 21st, 12 noon, Eagle Gate Stake Center, 135 A Street. Friends may call at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, on Thursday evening 6-8 p.m., and at the Ward, Friday, 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
