Glen Denning Westergard, age 68, of Idaho Falls, Idaho died December 13, 1990 at Lutheran Hospital in Mesa, Arizona of heart failure.
He was born May 10, 1922, at Idaho Falls, the son of Peter Holst and Sarah Adelle Denning Westergard. He attended schools at Ammon, and graduated from Ammon High School. He served in the Army World War II in the Philippines and with the Occupational Forces in Japan. He married Thelda Hansen October 21, 1942, at Preston. The marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple, December 6, 1956. She died June 2, 1973. He married Ruby Margaret Willardsen Thompson, April 3, 1981, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.He was a general building contractor, cabinet maker, silver smith and jewelry maker. He was a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Idaho Falls for many years. He was an active member of the LDS Church, where he served as bishop, High Councilman, Sunday School superintendancy, temple officiator, Sunday School teacher and home teacher. He and his wife, Ruby, served a full time LDS mission to Santa Rosa, California.

Westergard, Idaho Falls, Idaho; son, Glen Dee Westergard, Rigby, Idaho; daughters, Mrs. David (Julie Ann) Humphreys, Idaho Falls; Mrs. Gary (Jann) Green, St. George; Mrs. Tod (Jaci) Reinke, Placentia, Calif; sons, Steven Kent Westergard, Yakima, Wash.; Val Reed Westergard, Boise; Paul Brian Westergard, Las Vegas, Nevada; Scott Craig Westergard, Idaho Falls; stepdaughters, Mrs. Gerald (Margaret) Purser, Muskego, Wis.; Mrs. Allan (Janet) Cook, Idaho Falls; stepson, Douglas Evan Thompson, Logan; sister, Mrs. Dan (Wanda) Letham, Driggs; brother, Riley Westergard, Iona; Elden Westergard, Pocatello; 36 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 18, 1990 at 1 p.m. at the Idaho Falls LDS 34th Ward Chapel, 5255 South 5th West, Idaho Falls with Bishop J.R. Hayes officiating. Visitation was held Monday from 7-9 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment, Iona Cemetery. Arrangements by Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Ave., Idaho Falls, Idaho.
