Idaho's Jeff Sarchett stopped a University of Utah sweep Sunday in the first slalom event of the 1990-91 season, the Eric Hays Memorial. The Utes won the top three women's spots and four of the top five in the men's event.
Sarchett's time was 1:20.96 for the two runs. He was followed by Utah's Nicholas Robichon with a 1:22.75. Karianne Eriksen won the women's event in 1:25.80 and was followed by teammate Katja Lesjak in 1:26.70.Sandi Ferre, a member of the Park City Ski Team, was the most impressive junior. She finished fourth overall in the women's race. Ehlias Louis, also of junior on the Park City team, was seventh in the men's event.
