The Mountain View High girls cross country team has earned the top national ranking from Harrier Magazine - the second straight honor in as many years for the Bruins, who have won seven straight state titles.

Harrier Magazine officials contacted Mountain View Coach Dave Houle this weekend to inform him of the soon-to-be-published rankings. The Bruins had been ranked first in the previous national poll at the end of the 1990 fall season.

Three boys teams from Utah had been ranked among the top 25 at the end of the regular season - Viewmont, fourth; Bingham, 13th; and Mountain View, 24th.
