Marvin H. Combs, 61, passed away at Holy Cross Hospital, in Salt Lake City, on December 15, 1990.

He was born April 13, 1929 in Merrill, Wisconsin. He married Lois Hanrahan on January 27, 1951 in Racine, Wisconsin. Attended Iowa State University, graduated with a degree in forestry in 1955. Employed by the U.S. Forest Service from 1955 to 1972 on Forest districts in Idaho, Utah and Wyoming. He joined the Bureau of Reclamation in 1972 and was responsible for planning in the upper Colorado River Basin area, which includes Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Nevada and Utah, until his retirement from government service in 1984. He loved the mountains, forests and streams. He devoted his life to the wise use and management of natural resources and appreciation of nature. He was active in outdoor recreation and the Utah Wildlife Federation.He is survived by his wife, Lois; daughters, Mrs. Darol (Chris) Davis, Mrs. Terry (Cheryl) Redding; and Mrs. E. Tom (Julie) Warner, all Salt Lake City; also survived by sisters, Irene Vasilopulos, Florida; Eleanor Pierce, Minnesota; Delores Heise, Wisconsin; Hazel Buege, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Zasha, Austin, Alyssa, and Addison.

Funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 1975 South 23rd East, where friends may call 1 hour prior. Funeral directors, Neil O'Donnell & Sons.
