A video store that was damaged in a three-alarm fire Thursday night in West Valley City is back in business.

West Valley Fire Marshal John Blundell said he had feared the Rocky Mountain Video's stock of videotapes was burning and sending toxic smoke across the shopping center and damages would be extensive. But video store employee Nikki Harrison said that when owner Everett Herbert and employees were finally able to get into the store Friday, they found that only 1,000 of the 11,000 videotapes in stock were damaged by the fire.

They opened for business and are busy taking reservations for tapes, Harrison said.

"We should have all the damage cleaned up by next week," she said.
